Before I get into the event, I would like to give you a brief background on EastTexasMinis.com. The East Texas Minis Drag night comes from EastTexasMinis.com. EastTexasMinis.com is an online community forum based on the East Texas Minitruckin and custom car scene. East Texas Minis Dragnight is a local event gathering for us local East Texas Minitruckers, and custom enthusiasts. This month’s event was held in Longview, TX, about 2hrs east of Dallas. It was good to have something local for our scene in this area. There really aren’t a lot of people into the scene here, but for the ones around Longview it’s always nice to get everyone together for a night of fun and laughs.

          Jeff Wilson (Promoter of Turkey Drag) created East Texas Minis a few years ago, after we all have been on the forum DFWminis.com. For awhile more and more members from East Texas joined the community, so Jeff figured it was time to create one for us east Texan’s. The forum doesn’t get a whole lot of web traffic, but because the community is local, we all pretty much know each other and keep up with what everyone is up to.

          Now back to the event! The East Texas Minis Drag Night was Put on, and Hosted By the Longview, TX Chapter of Outkast Kustoms, and of course we couldn’t forget the EastTexasMinis.com forum. Keith Still Came to me with the idea of a Drag Session, and wanted some Fliers for the event. I designed the flyers for Keith, and got the ball rolling. With only about a month of time to push the event, I think it turned out really well for something so local. It’s currently in the works of becoming an annual series event, with events happening every 2-3 months.

          We estimate the turnout was about 20 to 25 trucks, and probably 50 to 75 people. This is a lot for a first time hangout. It was a cold night for dragging, but these crazy guys from yourscenemag.com don’t care. We are always down for hanging out of a window at 60mph for some Dragging!
