Lake Front Tour 2009

The Lake Front Tour would be nothing without a little rain. We started our trip from my little home in Rusk, TX in a straight down pour, but as I told everyone rain or shine I’m going to The Lake Front Tour! I’ve been trying to get out to this show every year since I got into the scene back in 1999. I actually only went one time and it was the year Hurricane Katrina hit. Hurricane Katrina really hurt the community, so I went for the cause, to give something back to hurricane victims that year.
After all the hurricanes and getting the Southern Louisiana back up on their feet it seems Roger Miller and his Club Midnight Fantasies have come in full force to bring back what once was, and I would think now is again the biggest show in Southern Louisiana. For a day that looked like there was no way in the world there was going to be killer rides at the show it was for sure to change fast. We pulled into the show Saturday to be amazed at the high quality rides covering the show grounds, and glowing like they had been hiding in enclosed trailers all night! Clubs & show goers came out in full force lining up on the show grounds that Saturday in Lake Charles. The final tally was 420 entries for the weekend and vendors were setup ready to roll. We were excited about having an inside booth there that would keep us out the weather in case of any FLASH FLOODING, Tornado’s or if the Lake Decided to break its banks and flood Lake Charles. At least we could climb to the roof!
Everything was great all throughout the day until around 3:30 or 4:00pm. WOW, the sky poured the whole lake on top of Lake Charles I think. It didn’t let up at all for several hours. It was perfect timing for Roger, because he took it to his advantage to put on the top of the line bikini contest. The bikini contest was a great way to bring everyone indoors from the rain to enjoy a great show.
For our nightlife event well, it probably would be a little more than what we would call, “The Normal”, nightlife for a car show. John Salas, one of the founding members of the Vertically Challenged Car Club Houston, Texas had an invite to a wedding that was going on that weekend in Lake Charles. I’m not sure of the full details, but either the case may be make sure you pick

Sunday was just as great as the day before. We look forward to next year and hope to see everyone out there again.
